In cooperation with Unesco Brasil, the journal Brazilian Journalism Research is now announcing a call for paper for its special edition on freedom of the press to be printed on Semester I, 2007. The journal will publish either theoretical essays or research reports. The deadline for submitting articles is January 31rst. 2007.
Articles should necessarily deal with the main topic of this special edition or with related themes such as freedom of the press as basic human right, freedom of the press and democratic values; role of media for democratic governance; law, regulation, policies and the public interests; safety of journalists, the question regarding the impunity of crimes against journalists; privacy and freedom of expression; media freedom and political speech; access to information and other related topics.
Brazilian Journalism Research (BJR) is a semi-annual scientific journal published by the Brazilian Journalism Researchers Association (SBPJor). For further information about BJR and SBPJor, please visit the website . The association is dedicated to theory and research on journalism (theoretical and empirical).
The journal is totally edited in English.
